Apple Pie Jam

Come learn how to make and preserve apple pie jam in this hands-on food preservation workshop. University of Maine Cooperative Extension volunteers and staff will teach you the basic steps for canning and freezing. Participants will receive a "Preserving the Harvest" food preservation packet. You will learn recommended methods for preserving goods, and the latest and safest recipes. Find out about equipment to ensure safety, and how to check for properly sealed jars. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop. The cost of the class has an additional $20 lab fee.

If you like chocolate, this class from Ella Raibert of Ella's Chocolate is the class for you! We will begin with molding your chocolates and then box them and have them ready for gift giving. The cost of class as an additional $7 lab fee.

This hands-on food preservation workshop taught by a member of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will teach the basic steps for fermenting; preserving equipment, recommended recipes and ingredients. Enjoy the wonders and ease of fermentation with a batch of vegetable ferments, like sauerkraut and kimchi, learn the steps in fermentation, and take your first batch home. The cost of class includes an additional $20 lab fee.
