Franco History, King's Daughters

The "filles du roi" were single, French women who were subsidized by the crown to come to New France as the colony in today's Canada was experiencing a shortage of marriageable women. The history and background of these courageous women and girls will be explored, along with possible reasons why they chose to embark on such a dangerous endeavor and what happened to them on arrival.
