This course follows the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association for Heartsaver CPR (adult, child, infant, and AED). Participants will learn to assess the patient, send someone to call for help and retrieve the AED, do cycles of compressions and breaths to help save a life. A course textbook and certification card are included as part of the program. This class is designed for lay rescues encountered by non-healthcare providers. Lunch will be provided.

Floor Pilates

Pilates is a way of connecting and conditioning the whole mind and body. It focuses on embracing calm, with an emphasis on stretching/limbering. The muscles will be worked through a full range of motion to enhance flexibility, muscular strength and balance, while staying connected to the conscious breath. Class will include breathing exercises, warm up, and muscular conditioning, followed by a cool down. This is a basic floor class and moves can be adapted by students if they have any physical limitations.

Living Well with Chronic Pain

This is a six-week class for people who want to learn how to better manage their pain, deal with frustration, fatigue, poor sleep and isolation. Students will also learn appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, endurance, and tehcniques for pacing activity and rest.

Living Well with Diabetes

This is a 6-week workshop focused on helping participants manage their Type 2 Diabetes and symptoms. The class is facilitated by trained community members, many of whom have diabetes. Participants have reported less pain, more energy, and fewer hospitalizations. We will be giving you the tools and tips you need to manage your diabetes, live a healthier life, and take back control.
