Apple Pie Jam

Come learn how to make and preserve apple pie jam in this hands-on food preservation workshop. University of Maine Cooperative Extension volunteers and staff will teach you the basic steps for canning and freezing. Participants will receive a "Preserving the Harvest" food preservation packet. You will learn recommended methods for preserving goods, and the latest and safest recipes. Find out about equipment to ensure safety, and how to check for properly sealed jars. Please bring a potholder with you to the workshop. The cost of the class has an additional $20 lab fee.

Beginner Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Try this beginner-focused Vinyasa Flow class that incorporates elements of Tai Chi, Tri Yoga, Kundalini and Shiva Rea's Beginner's Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Increased flexibility, clarity of mind and restorative relaxation are just a few of the benefits gained from practicing for health and fitness. Modifications provided for those with wrist, knee, shoulder and back issues. Bring a water bottle, yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. This five-week class will be held at Chill Yoga on 178 Lisbon St. in Lewiston.

Learn tools to help with relaxation and calming the mind to bring you a deeper sense of self. Each week, instrctuor Heidi Audet will guide students in breathing practices known as Pranayama, which helps to calm the mind and prepare students for guided meditation practice. No prior experience necessary. This four-week class class will be held at Kimball Street Studios, 191 Lisbon St. in Lewiston.
