If you are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the medical field, this course will provide you with the skills and experiences to be Maine State Certified as a Nursing Assistant. This regional collaboration has allowed us to offer this course at a reduced cost! Skills will be taught in an interactive classroom setting, and a two-week clinical experience will follow. The course will focus on nursing theory and application, including basic anatomy, physiology, and clinical performance. The course will also introduce you to several employers within our region. Prerequisites: students must successfully pass the CASAS testing and interview screening in order to be admitted to the program. Applicants are encouraged to job shadow a CNA before interviewing. Documentation of a recent medical physical, conducted and signed by a physician, is required before clinical. Students must produce evidence of the following vaccinations: Hep B1, MMR, Tetanus, Chicken Pox, TB and flu shot. Fee for background check in non-refundable. Genesis Healthcare, Marshwood Center in Lewiston, is working in collaboration with local adult education programs to offer a reduced cost Certified Nursing Assistant program. If you are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the medical field, this course will provide you with the skills and experiences to be Maine State Certified as a nursing assistant. This intensive program integrates classroom instruction with clinical practice. Clinical practice will take place with the program's employer partner, Marshwood Center in Lewiston. Prerequisites: students must successfully pass the CASAS testing and interview screening in order to be admitted to the program. Documentation of a recent medical physical, conducted and signed by a physician, is required before clinical. This is the Maine State approved EMT Course which prepares students for entry level work on an ambulance. This is a fast-paced course utilizing an online platform to enhance learning and classroom activities. The majority of your course work will be done online on your own computer. There will also be face-to-face in-class sessions with your instructor to learn the practical skills needed to be an EMT. Students can expect to spend a minimum of 25 hours each week on the course doing the required reading and assignments. A minimum of 20 clinical hours are also required. Additional clinical time may be required to complete the clinical objectives. All students will be required to provide immunization documentation prior to clinical. Students who successfully complete this course are eligible to sit for the National Registry EMT (NREMT) exam. NREMT Practical testing fees are included in price of this course. Written testing fees and Maine licensing fees are NOT included. Course fee includes: Textbook, background check, access to MyBradyLab, EMT Test prep, clinical shirt. The class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Jan. 9 and ending on May 1 at United Training Center on 338 East Ave. in Lewiston. Class will be held on January 9, 16, 23, 30; February 6, 13, 27; March 6, 13, 20, 27; April 3, 10, 24 and May 1. No classes wil be held on February 20, 2019 or April 17, 2019. Are you looking for a career as a welder or looking to acquire the skills needed to complete home welding projects? This course will cover the basics of welding theory, proper safety measures, and hands-on experience with electrodes. You will begin welding with stick electrodes in a flat position and progress to welding vertically with E6011 and E7018-type electrodes. Students will receive an attendance certificate at the end of class.

Are you serious about beginning a career as a welder? This program is designed for those individuals pursuing training with the goal of employment in the welding trade. You will get an overview of welding theory and move into industrial applications such as MIG and TIG welding and end with an in-depth review of Flux Cored welding. Students completing this course will receive a certificate documenting the hours of hands-on experience.
